Discovery

Design begins with understanding.

In this conversation, we explore how you live in and use your outdoor space, along with your aesthetic preferences, privacy needs, and project direction.
This step establishes the foundation for design development.

02

Site Study & Concept Development

Your property, architecture, and environmental context are carefully studied.
Initial design concepts are developed to organize space, establish circulation, and compose landscape elements in relation to the home and surrounding environment.

03

Design Presentation & Refinement

The concept design is presented for review.
Client feedback is incorporated through a controlled refinement process to ensure the design aligns with functional needs and personal vision.
The result is a resolved master plan prepared for implementation.

04

Construction & Implementation

Refuge leads the construction phase to ensure the design is executed with precision and fidelity. We coordinate all trade partners and manage site execution, maintaining continuous alignment between design intent and built form. Clients remain removed from day-to-day coordination while we oversee communication, sequencing, and field decisions through completion. The result is a seamless realization of the design from concept to construction.

05

Your Refuge

The finished design is intended to feel composed, natural, and personal — an outdoor environment that functions as a seamless extension of home.

A place that feels like coming home.
