Lakeside Fun

An outdated lakeside yard was reimagined as a calm outdoor space oriented toward the water.

A broad bluestone patio extends the living area outdoors, defined by a large timber arbor that brings the scale down and frames the view of the lake. A recessed hot tub and surrounding planting create privacy from nearby neighbors, while a new path to the shore skirts the edge of the garden, creating an open lawn at its center.

Mid-Century Modern

An aging reflecting pond was transformed into a functional outdoor space that complements the home’s mid-century modern character.

Poured concrete walls and a broad paver patio create a clean, industrial structure within the garden. Surrounding plantings soften the edges, while a widened entry path and carefully placed screens guide visitors quietly toward the front door.

Hillside Retreat

A steep, unused hillside was reshaped into a series of terraces designed for gathering and quiet enjoyment.

Paver patios at different levels create places to sit and linger, including a large patio near the house and a smaller fire pit terrace tucked into the slope. Broad stone steps connect the spaces, while thoughtful planting brings structure and softness to the garden, balancing a formal layout with the surrounding landscape.

Family Space

A small patio was expanded and reoriented to connect the home with the larger garden beyond.

The diagonal layout opens the space toward the side yard, allowing the patio to feel part of the surrounding landscape rather than confined to the back of the house. Timber arbors introduce structure and light shade, while open hog wire fencing preserves views to the greenbelt beyond.

Green Getaway

A neglected yard was restored into an open landscape designed for movement, gathering, and quiet retreat.

A broad green lawn creates space to run and play, held gently within surrounding trees and garden beds. A fire pit patio and covered deck offer places to pause, while a small waterfall and colorful plantings bring life and sound to the edges of the space. The front entry, once hidden behind overgrown shrubs, is now revealed by a welcoming path that leads directly from the street through new garden plantings.

Forest Garden

A traditional lawn was replaced with a living garden designed for food, habitat, and quiet gathering.

A low thyme lawn threads through the space, linking soft paths, a fire pit patio, and a small treehouse nestled among the plantings. Edible trees, shrubs, and perennials form a layered forest garden, while a gentle bioswale gathers and guides rainwater through the landscape.
